How to forward an Apple email to Notion

Forwarding an email to Notion using an iPhone or other Apple device has always been problematic. Many people outside of Notion complain about this feature being missing, and there are several elaborate software solutions using IFTTT, Make, Zapier and other “connector” apps that are not easy in themselves.

After reading about these elaborate alternatives and scratching my head, I stumbled across a dirt-simple way to do this. Basically all you have to do is print the email as a PDF and select Notion as the destination. Here’s how it works with an iPhone:

  1. Select the email you want to save.
  2. Tap the “forward” arrow that you’ve always used to forward an email.
  3. Scroll down and you’ll find a menu option titled “Print.”
  4. Tap the Print option and it takes you to a window where you can select your printer – such as an Air Printer if you have one installed. But you don’t want to print this email to paper. Instead:
  5. Look at the top and there is the wonderful arrow-box symbol:
  6. Click on that and it will open your file destination options, including Notion.

If you’re using the desktop version of Apple Mail, simply print your email, click on PDF, and choose Notion as the destination. Easy peezy.

  1. Hi,

Thank you for your post. The idea is simple and extremely useful. However, I noticed a crucial point missing: “and choose Notion as the destination.” Since I don’t have a ‘Notion’ destination in my filesystem, how can I choose Notion?
